To adjust your rangefinder you need to adjust the focus ring until it aligns perfectly with the center of your target.

Then, you should move the lens back into position. This is done by turning the focus ring clockwise or counter-clockwise as needed.

Vertical RF Alignment

If you have a late-model M4-P or later, you’ll need to use a special radio frequency (RF) adjustment tool. Remove the Leica logo above the lens mount, and adjust the focus by turning the screw.

Adjusting the RF patch alignment at infinity is very easy. You need a screwdriver that fits perfectly.

Apply to turn force only. Don’t push against the rangefinder arm.

When adjusting your telescope, make sure you’re looking at something really far away (like the moon), and then adjust the scope until it looks perfect. You’ll probably be adjusting the focus knob too.

The eccentric screw holds the roller so it doesn’t move when you turn the dial. This allows you to zero the rangefinder so you can accurately measure distances.

Close Focus

When using a camera with an autofocus system, make sure that your camera does not need any focus before taking pictures. This will help prevent blurry images.

A vertical line should be drawn in front of the camera. This helps focus.

Mount the camera on a tripod. Put the camera on a tripod, so that the sensor plane is 1m away from the highlighted line of the text.

Adjustment screws should be locked with a thread-locking compound. Low-strength compound must be used. Screws can’t be moved after sealing them.

The vertical adjustment screw can’t be sealed because of limited access.
