Viewfinder Parallax
A rangefinder camera is an optical device used to take pictures. This type of camera allows you to focus your shots by looking into a small hole in the middle of the camera. You can see the exact position of the subject in the frame because the viewfinder is offset from the actual lens. In order to get the right shot, you must know how far away your subject is.
More advanced rangefinder cameras project a bright line frame into the viewfinder that moves as the lens focuses. Their angle of view also changes with distance, so the bright line frame adjusts for this too.
A rangefinder camera allows you to see what your photo will look like before you take it. You can change the settings of your camera while taking pictures. Rangefinder cameras allow you to zoom in or out without changing the focal length of your lens.
Large Lenses Block Viewfinder
Lenses are designed to be as big as possible. This allows more light into the camera. However, if you put too much glass in front of your eyes, you won’t be able to see what you’re taking pictures of. So, the bigger the lens, the less likely you’ll be able to see what’s going on.

Difficulty Integrating Zoom Lenses
Rangefinders have a fixed field of view. Zoom lenses are not compatible with rangefinders. The only true zoom lenses for rangefinder cameras are the Contax G2Carl Zeiss 35–70mm Vario-Sonnar T* Lens with a built-In Zoom Viewfinder.
There are very few lenses allow the user to choose between two or three focal lengths. The viewfinder must be designed for all focal lengths of any zoom lens used. The rangefinder may become misaligned, causing inaccurate focusing.
Historically unobtrusive
Rangefinder cameras are quiet, but they aren’t as good as modern DSLRs. They’re also larger and heavier.

Absence of mirror
Wide-angle lenses are used by photographers because they allow them to capture more of the scene without having to move around. A mirror swings out of the way when you use a rangefinder camera. Rangefinder cameras are much smaller than SLR cameras.
There is no moving mirror, so there is no momentary blackout of the subject being photographed, so there is no blackout.
Field of view
Viewfinders allow you to see what is happening outside of the frame. With a wide-angle lens, you can get a wider viewfinder frame. A telephoto lens gives you more magnification, but your viewfinder frame may be too big. You can shoot in portrait mode, and still get a nice viewfinder frame.
Use of filters
Filters affect the colors of images. Graduated filters help you see more detail in your subject. Polarizing filters let you see things in low-light situations. You can use them to make your subject stand out from the background.
