Use of LBRF with the ATN Ballistics App

The LBRF can be used in conjunction with an ATN Ballistic App to provide you with the right turret adjustments needed for a Direct Hold On Target (DHOOT) Solution. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store depending on the device type.

Step 1: You must first download the LBRF application onto your phone or tablet before using it.

Step 1: Once the app is downloaded and opened you’ll be prompted to allow access to your location services. Selecting yes will allow the app to use your location services.

Step 2: With the LBRF in your hands, press the power button two times. This will make the laser sight available for connection to the smartphone and app.

Step 3: You will see on the smartphone that the laser sight is available for connection. Choose it from the available devices on the menu.

Step 4: When choosing the LBRF from this menu, you will see a menu with available profiles. Select the profile for your caliber rifle under PROFILES. If the correct caliber isn’t an option, choose a caliber you don’t have (for example, 50 BMG). Then, you can select the name of the profile and change it to your desired name.

Step 5: You must enter the correct data into the current profile. After entering the correct data, you can go back to the previous menu by pressing the back button on your phone.

Step 6: The next menu gives you choices to input the correct environmental factors. You then need to input the correct values into the system.

Step 7: Once you do that, you’ll be given a screen showing the current scope and numerical values inside circles on each of the turrets (the numbers represent the amount of correction needed to hit the target).

Conclusion

Rangefinders are used to measure distances. They use radio waves to send out signals and then receive them back. When you’re looking for something, you want to be close enough to see it but far enough away that it doesn’t affect your view. In order to do this, you need to know how far away the object is. That’s what a rangefinder does.
