Bushnell Medalist Golf Laser User Guide

A laser rangefinder is an optical instrument used to measure distances to objects or surfaces. It consists of a light source (usually a laser) and a detector (usually a photodiode). When the laser beam strikes an object, some of the light energy bounces back towards the detector. The amount of light reflected depends on the distance to the target. The greater the distance, the less light returned. By measuring the intensity of the return flight, the distance to the target can be determined.

Ranging Accuracy

The MEDALIST™ measures range up to 1,000 yards / 914 meters, but the maximum range depends on the reflectivity (or brightness) of the target. In general, the instrument will measure ranges up to about 500 yards / 457 meters. For very bright targets, the maximum range may be as high as 1000 yards / 914 meters.

Target colors affect how far away you can see them. Shiny surfaces allow you to see further than dull ones. Small targets are harder to see than large ones.

Angles to the target affect how far away you see it.

Shoot at a 90-degree angle and you’ll get the longest distance. Shoot at a steep angle and your target will appear closer. Lighting conditions affect how far away you’re able to see your target. Overcast skies make it hard to see things far away.

Inserting the Battery

Unit of Measure Options

The distance measurement indicator lights up when you press the power button. You can see the yard/meter indicator light up as well. When you press the mode button, the unit returns to the previous model.

Active Laser

A laser gun is used to shoot targets. Crosshairs around the aiming circle indicate that the laser is being sent out. Once a range has been acquired, you can press the power button to fire the laser. Crosshairs disappear when the power button is pressed.

Optical Desgin

Magnification and coatings allow you to see more detail than ever before. Optics are multi-coated, allowing maximum light transmission for optimal brightness, superb resolution, and clarity for a clear, crisp image in any lighting condition. An LCD is mounted inside the optics, and when activated, displays yardage, distance, and mode indicators. Black spots appear naturally in the optic system, but they don’t affect your ability to use the scope.

Cleaning

Cleaning your camera lenses is very important. Dust particles and fingerprints can ruin photos if you don’t take care of them. You should always clean your lenses gently and thoroughly. Never rub or scrub the lens with anything abrasive.

Limited Warranty

Your Bushnell product is covered by a 2-year warranty. You must send your product back to us within 2 years of purchase. We will either repair or replace your product if there is a defect. We do not cover damage caused by improper use, installation, or maintenance.

Final Words

The laser must be aimed at the target. The laser should be held steady while depressing the power button.

Nothing should block the objective lens. The last range reading doesn’t need to be cleared before targeting another target.

Just aim at the new target and press the power button.
