How Pso Rangefinder Works Tarkov? – All You Need to Know with Tips, Tricks, & More

People often ask, how do Tarkov PSO rangefinders work?

Let’s find out!

How Do Tarkov PSO Rangefinders Work?

The Tarkov rangefinder uses a laser beam to measure the distance from the device to the target. It then calculates the angle of the target based on this measurement and displays it on its screen. This information is used to calculate the bullet trajectory.

Design

The PSO-1 is a telescopic sight specifically designed for use with the Soviet SVT-40 sniper rifle. The current version of this scope is the PSO-M2.

The PSO-M2 differs from the original PSO in that it lacks the infrared detector, which was originally used to detect the generation zero active infrared night vision device like the U.S. M2 Sniper Scope.

The metal body of this scope is made from a magnesium-aluminum alloy. The PSO features a battery-powered red illuminated reticle with illumination provided by a simple diopter.

It features professionally ground fully multi-coated optical elements, a baked-on enamel finish for scratch resistance, and an attachable, quickly deployable, extendable sun shade.

The scope body is sealed and filled up with nitrogen gas. This prevents fogging of optics. It can function within a -50°C to 50°C temperature range.

For zerring the telescopic sight, the reticle can be manipulated by adjusting the elevation and windage turret. At 100m (109 yds), the quality of the PSOT-1 is higher than other PSOT-type telescopic sights. It does not have a focus adjustment, but it does have a parallax compensation mechanism.

Most modern military tactical sights with lower power fixed magnification, such as the ACOG, do not have such features.

Modern fixed magnification military scopes with the higher power, such as the PSO-1, usually offer one or more of these features.

The PSO-I has neither a focus adjustment nor a parallax correction mechanism. Most modern military sniper telescopic sights, intended for long-range shots, usually offer one or both of these features.

The position of the scope’s body on the left side of the bore’s centerline may not be comfortable for some shooters.

Bullet Drop Compensation Elevation Turret

Bullet drop compensation is used to correct for the effect of gravity on bullets fired from a gun. When the bullet drops, it changes direction. This change in direction causes the bullet to miss its target.

To compensate for this, the gunner uses chevrons to adjust the aim. The chevrons are placed on the scope reticle. Each chevron shifts the aim by 100 meters. So if you shoot a round that has a range of 500 meters, then there would be 10 chevrons on the scope.

The first chevron would move your aim 500 meters left, the second chevron would move it 500 meters right, etc.

Besides the vertical adjustment control, the horizontal adjustment control can also be easily dialed in by the user.

Reticle

The floating reticle is used for estimating distances and shooting accuracy. The chevron is the main aiming point. The horizontal lines are for windage and bullet drop correction.

A stadiametric range finder is an optical device used to measure distances. It consists of two lenses placed side-by-side and separated by a fixed distance.

The image formed by the first lens is projected onto a second lens, which focuses the image back onto a screen or paper. By measuring the position of the image relative to the edges of the screen, the user can calculate the distance to the target.

The chevron system allows you to engage targets out to 1,000 meters. You must set your elevation turret to 1, 000 meters before applying the chevrons for each engagement.

The hash marks in the horizontal plane can help you measure distance when shooting at a target. You can use them to compensate for the wind or movement of your target.

Hash marks are spaced at 1 milli-radian interval, so if something is 5 meters wide, it will appear 10 hash marks wide at 500 meters.

A reticle is an instrument used to measure angles or distances. It consists of two parallel lines marked off into equal divisions. These lines intersect at right angles. The device is usually mounted on a telescope or microscope.

Mounting System

Telescopic sights are mounted on the right side of the receiver. The side rail is a dovetail rail. The side rail mount offsets the axis to the left. The castle nut is tightened by pressing down on the spring-loaded part of the clamp.

The serial number of the scope should be engraved on the buttstock of the rifle. The serial number of the rifle should be engraved on the scope.

Accessories

The PSO-1 is an optical device used by the military to detect incoming missiles. It has a lens hood that reduces the amount of light entering the eye, and a carrying case to prevent damage when being transported or stored.

Variants

The VSS VintoreZ AS VAL rifle is a semi-automatic sniper rifle chambered in.308 Winchester/7.62×51 NATO. The PSO-M2-1 used on this weapon is a variant of the PSO-1M1. It has a 400-meter rangefinder and a 1.7-meter range drum.

The POSP is a commercial version of optical sight. These sights feature various reticles, windages/elevations turrets, mounts, magnifications, and variations of the bodies and lenses used. Various manufacturers make these optics under the same names.
