Let’s find out!
How to Mount a Rangefinder?
The best way to mount a rangefinder is to attach it to a tripod using a ball head. This will allow you to move the camera around freely without worrying about shaking the camera.
If you don’t want to invest in a tripod, you could try mounting the camera on a wall bracket.

Nikon S mount
The Nikon S-mount was a copy of the ZEISS Ikon Contax rangefinders’ mount. However, there are some minor differences between the two mounts, such as the position of the aperture ring. Therefore, while Zeiss lenses can be used on Nikon cameras, Nikon lenses won’t work on Zeiss cameras.
Early Nikons used this marking to denote that the lenses had been coated. The mount itself has two bays, one inside the camera body and another outside. A lens that uses the bayonet outside the camera must have no focusing helicoid in the lens barrel. Consequently, the 5cm f/1.4 lenses that came with the bodies are very small (about the size of a golf ball) since the lens only contains the optical elements.
How to focus these lenses?
Focusing on these lenses can be done by rotating the screw-threaded wheel on the top front part of the camera body or rotating the lens barrel itself. The external bayonet is meant to mount a longer and heavier lense where the internal helicoid wouldn’t be strong enough to turn the lens barrel.
These lenses are focused using a ring and distance scale, just like normal SLR lenses. The distance scale on the camera is covered by the lens flanges and, therefore, not visible.
Which lenses did Nikon produced?
Nikon produced a wide range of Nikon Lenses for these cameras. Some of them were very expensive. Other companies also made lenses for this camera. This camera was sold by many different companies such as Cosina Voigtlander, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, and others.
