How to Mount a Scope on a Savage 22?
What height scope rings do I need for my Savage Scope Mounts?
A simplified method of determining required scope height. Using some sort of shims (i.e. coin, washer, magnet) stack up the required amount of shims to achieve the desired scope height. Verify the final height does not interfere with the operation.

Torque Recommendations
Cap screws should be tightened until they’re snug but not too tight. Never tighten them beyond the scope manufacturer’s specifications. Verify with the scope manufacturer what the maximum allowable torque is before you start tightening your screws.
Torque should be checked by the gunsmith before mounting a scope. Make sure you use a torque wrench that is calibrated. Never exceed the recommended torque setting.

Loctite
Loctite is used to secure screws into receivers. Loctite Blue 242 is recommended. Do not use Loctite on the screws going into the ring. Test fit before applying Loctite.
