I was always confused when people came to the scope counter and spent an hour looking at and discussing scopes, chose a $1000 rifle scope and then bought a $15 set of mounts to attach it to a $1000 gun. Where’s the weak point in this equation? The cheap $15 mounts.

I’m not saying you have too spend money on your ring, but, at least get good ones. You’ll feel better when you’re done. Here are some other things to know about scope rings:

How to properly select rifle scope rings

You should buy a scope with a 1″ tube diameter if you want to be accurate. If you want to shoot fast, then get a scope with a 30mm or 34mm tube diameter.
